The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) is a Federal Government statutory regulatory agency established by Act 11 of 2003, under the Federal Ministry of Health.

Who we are

A statutory mandate for quality and precision

MLSCN regulates medical laboratory services through registration and licensing of laboratories and practitioners, mandatory inspection, mentoring for quality improvement, accreditation, monitoring & evaluation, and certification of laboratory test kits and reagents.

Our work ensures that over 75% of the indices required for effective medical diagnosis and treatment monitoring — which are based on laboratory test results — are accurate, reliable and produced to global best practice.
